Sweet Little Claire is One!

Today is my youngest granddaughter's 1st birthday.  I just had to show off the cake my daughter made
and the cute banner that my daughter in law made for the party!
The cake was a simple one, because my daughter who made it is 9 months pregnant!  Simple sometimes can turn out to be so great!
She acted as though she could not believe that anyone would let her just dig into the cake.  She liked it  very much!

I loved the yellow and pink.

New Thrift store finds

Sometimes the Thrift store holds so many treasures, and this little trip, I got lucky.  As I walked in, I decided to go to the Christmas section to look for a Vintage Santa cup.  (I have a collection of these and they are all different)  Just as I rounded the corner, there he was.  All worn and perfect!
Then I happened on a big bag full of old cookie cutters, and I was especially attracted to the vintage one with the green handle.  And also in this bag was 10 tart tins to use for ornaments I will be making.
All of this was $1.00  I was tickled pink!

a whole package of vintage velvet poinsettia leaves.
Taking the yarn off of these spools will afford some crafty items for something cool!
Oval frames are always good to pick up because you don't see them lots.
and I also found this board with these cool pegs, so I can either paint it or take them off and use them elsewhere.   I know these items don't look the very most vintagie to begin with, but if you use your imagination, SOMETHING SPECIAL can come along!

A little bit of scrapbooking

I have not scrapbooked for a long time.  Just to busy doing other crafts and projects I guess, but still have such a love for the craft.  Here is some of the scrapbooking I have finished just this morning.
This first two page layouts are of my second to the youngest granddaugthters 12 moth photo shoot!

I love the vintage embellishments I used from Crafty Secrets and fro9m graphics 45

This one below is of the youngest granddaughter who was born last summer and was 6 months at the time of this photo.

And here is the one I did for my little Claire Bear.  She is turning one this month.  Both Kinley and Claire are my little sweethearts.  They are about 6 months apart in age.

I had so much fun getting into the scrapbooking again.  I have so much more to get done. I had fun using some of my trims on these pages.

A somewhat more simple life

I am not old enough to remember these types of milk bottles, but it sure is fun to have them anyway.

I just like old things, for some reason.  Things that have a story, and a past.  Below are some
other fun items from the past that some might remember.
This box is like new and still has the foot covers inside!  I don't think there is anything that only costs
a quarter!
rejuvenate my bra is something we could still use.  Why don't they still make and sell these.
Love the way this grograin ribbon is packaged.  Only 55 cents.
Yes, life was simple!

Arabians and the lamp!

No, I am not talking about Aladdin!  This morning I had to take some pictures of the beautiful Arabian across the street from my house, as they were close to the fence on our side of the large pasture! It was such a beautiful morning.

That is my border collie out there having some fun!  NOW FOR THE LAMP PART OF THE POST!
I found this interesting old lamp at a garage sale a while back.  I thought it had a cool very French Scrolly design to it, so I brought it home and the other day turned it into this. . . . . . . .
I used my favorite spray paint which is "Hammered Iron"  from Rustoleum.
And the bonus is that there is a light in the glass base.
I love the base.
