I was lucky enough to do a Valentine swap with Kristen over at Signs and Salvage. She makes the most darling little Vintage Signs. This one is so perfect for me. I have a lot of black at my house plus red is my favorite color and I couldn't love glitter more. I am sure I will display this one all year round. Her signs are all handmade in California, and they use reclaimed wood and recycled paper. Each sign is Unique and one of a kind. She also sent me this really neat old vintage card. I love it, and everything lately in my life has been all about older vintage things. I will surely enjoy this little swap. Thanks so much Kristen, and guess what? I found out we share the same birthday. How cool is that. A link to her blog is in my link list so click on Signs and Salvage, and check it out.
I am a Mother of 8, grandmother of almost 27 wonderful little people. Married to a wonderful man for 38 years. I am a published scrapbooker, have decorated wedding cakes, made wedding dresses, had a wedding business, taught baton twirling lessons to girls for almost 40 years, and love to decorate my home inexpensively. I have always been a 'make-due' sort of person. I love dishes, teacups, teapots, and have to be creating something everyday. I love to listen to beautiful uplifting music and watch Masterpiece Theatre and Jane Austen movies while I scrap, craft or sew. I have become addicted to quilting, and dream about quilt blocks now. I am still working on getting better at this art form. I believe that Creating things with your hands is a good outlet and keeps your mind alert, and has a way of helping one lose all the cares of the day and world, right in my own little studio. Therefore I will never become a digital scrapbooker. I think that those who do digital turn out some beautiful pieces of art and lovely layouts, but for me I need to cut and paste by hand!
