I recently moved some things around in my house, and wanted to post about the chalkboard I have made up. This one in the kitchen is great for writing notes to family members, welcoming guests or for writing about what is going on in the family, holidays, etc. I have really enjoyed this since putting it up in March and change it quite often!
My husband made the little 3 tiered shelf when he was in Junior high, and it has been
lots of different colors to fit into different rooms. This little green shelf is one that I made
about 6 years ago, when I remodeled the kitchen.
Framed French collage
When my mother passed away, I inherited this buffet. I did not want it at first, because I thought I did not have room for it at my house. My siblings really thought I should take it. I am so glad I did. When I remodeled my kitchen, I refinished it and it fit perfectly in this spot!
A plate with a Fleur de li glued to the center. I am always looking for and buying white plates at thrift shop and yard sales. (The little Koala Bear is to remind me to write to my son, who is in Australia)
From the kitchen looking into the Dining room and part of the Living room.
My camera took these pictures and gave the pillars a look like they are curved.
They really are very straight, I promise.
Another variation of the plate motif.
These rod iron door mats make great large trivets in the kitchen or a centerpiece for the
dining room table!

You have a lovely home!!!
I'll be mailing my hat box out later this week. I "layed it" like a cake! Good advise.
Finally cool here! Thankful.

Your home is beautiful -- love the color of the kitchen walls and that shelf your husband made as a kid is fantastic! You have a great idea for using that chalkboard in the kitchen - a warm and cheery welcome to all who enter!
I love chalkboards and yours suits this area well, Michelle! Great clock ~ I love the design. This looks like a nice area to prep stuff {like coffee} and must come in handy when you have a party.
How pretty this all looks and it all goes so well together, you can see that you gave a lot of thought to this project. Very nice indeed!
Your decor is so pretty and inviting. Love all your frenchy touches. That buffet is a treasure, and it looks great there.
Love the chalkboard idea! I really should do something like that as I'm sure my kids would like it. I'm happy that you found the Hazel Atlas dishes! They are so expensive on eBay and I never find any when I go out here. Thanks for stopping by:-)
I CAME OVER TO THANK YOU FOR THE FOLLOW, AND I ABSOLUTELY FELL IN LOVE WITH YOUR BEAUTIFUL BLOG!! I HAD TO FOLLOW YOU BACK SO I COULD READ YOU ALL THE TIME.
Oh wow, you have a gorgeous house, I love the railing around the top of the kitchen and hubbies 3 tiered shelf. Moms buffet is beautiful and I love the finish, How great that you did not pass on it. You have a kitchen that looks so inviting, just waiting for someone to drop by and have a cup of coffee
