Sad and Wonderful day

The day has arrived
I am sad but thrilled for him at the same time
This wonderful young man is my youngest of 8 and we will take him to the MTC (Mission training
center) to stay for 3 weeks before leaving on a two year mission for our church to Preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
He is 19 and in our church, when a young man reaches the age of 19, he puts everything in his life on hold to go out in the world to serve the Lord for two years.  He is not going off to war, and I am so grateful for that, but I will miss him terribly.  He is my baby, the last one to leave the nest.  After the first 3 weeks of training, he will fly to western Australia and be in and around the Perth area mostly, although his mission covers all of Western Australia.  I have been blogging this morning from our hotel room to try to keep my mind elsewhere, while he and my husband are still sleeping and am trying to hold back the tears, as he is such a wonderful son and I know he loves and appreciates his father and I so much!  I have just a few more hours with him.
Ty is my 4th and last son to do this two year mission, so I have done this before, but that does
not make it any easier.  They leave as boys, and come back as men!  The last son closest to Ty
served in Argentina, and the other two stayed in the states.
He wears a ring on his hand that has a CTR on it and that stands for "Choose the Right"
I am thankful that they are willing to do this service and I know they are watched over and protected!  They have all returned home safely! I really am happy for the adventure that he is about to undertake!  Have a great day!

What a handsome boy!!!
You must be so proud of raising such a wonderful son. It still is never easy having your children leave the nest.
My thoughts and prayers to your son and to your family.
You are certainly blessed.

OK, this made me cry! I understand how you feel. It is quite a miracle that the Lord can depend on this army of young men to spread his words. I loved every picture, he is so handsome! God be with you and him as you go forward enjoying his mission with him. :)

Michele, you should be so proud of the amazing job you have done raising your son. My heart hurts for you. My baby moved to Illinois, and it seems so far away. I will be thinking of you sweet friend!! xxoo Valarie

You should be so proud of the awesome job you have done in raising this fine young man. May God bless, protect and keep your son as he is doing ministry over the next two years. May God also bless you during this time of releasing him into the world as an adult. May God give you rest as you become an empty nester and may your heart always be full of peace and love. Have a blessed day.

My heart goes out to you. It is so hard to let them go. But when you love something you have to let it grow. What a handsome young man. You have to be proud that he has chosen such a great way to grow. I'll pray all goes well for all of you, making the adjustments is hard. BUT we have such great communications systems now.
My son is in the military, has done 2 tours of Iraq, 2 1/2 yrs in South Korea and the end of June will be leaving with 2 little girls and his wife for Germany for 3 yrs. As a mother you pray a lot everyday and as they grow up it just seems harder, so you pray more.
God will help you thru and may you be blessed with only happy days
My best wishes to all of you
