Vintage folkart and Centerpiece done!

I can't stop looking at it! I have to admit, I am really tickled how this turned out. My first folkart in a long time. I just love this sort of 30's vintage look snowman. I can't afford to spend money on other people's work, so I thought I had better come up with my own folkart. I am naming him 'Christmas Cheer.'  He was so much fun to make, and I used vintage sheet music from an antique shop I visited a couple of weeks ago. His Christmas wish card that he holds is vintage also, and the ball on the top of his hat is a mercury glass ball. His middle is a plastic pumpkin that was $1.00, crepe paper, styrofoam ball papermached and then painted. A sprinkling of mica flakes complete his vintage look. The card on the small easel, comes from a vintage Christmas card put on cardstock and coarse glass glitter added.

A candy dish full of vintage ornaments sits behind him. I got the mercury glass candlestick this summer from the Summer vintage swap that I was involved with. The reindeer was also something I received from a swap.
I made this other little gem from an old Christmas card. ( I bought a huge lot of vintage card pieces off of Etsy) The round medallion is antique wrapping paper. I am crazy for all this vintage centerpiece below! Sometimes I just walk by in my dining room and stare at it for a while.
Now I just need about 48 hours each day to craft and make all the things I got swirling around in my head. I did not make this little house, but have in mind to try to make some of these too. (maybe not this year!)

Hi! I'm blog hopping looking around at the matchboxes from our swap. I love your cheery folk art! I also have been dabbling in paper mache (my first time) and made some cute snowman heads but I had a hard time with the crepe paper collar so I used ribbon instead. Merry Christmas!

Hi Michele, Thanks for commenting and becoming a follower of my blog. I enjoy yours temendously and reading your profile I discovered that you are in the Nevada desert. My husband and I are seriously thinking about retiring to the Las Vegas area. We love the desert and cannot wait for April to go back out there.
Wish you a wonderful Holiday!
