Did it just for me!

I wanted to figure out a way I could not only have all the
vintage trimmings and doily's I have found at thrift stores,
antique malls, shops and yard sales this summer,
but display them as well so I can enjoy looking at them.

I thought I would go and get some of the drawers
to a antique sewing machine I have in my garage.
My wonderful sister brought it to me this summer from Arizona.
But I am just not sure what I will do with it yet.  In the mean time
I will use the drawers in my creative space.  I am just so tickled with
the look of all this vintage!
This little heart ceramic pendant  with my name on it,
was made and given to me
by my Aunt when I turned seven years old.  It is so dear to me.
I can't believe I still have it.  It is one of the few things I have
from my childhood.
Most all of the trims are vintage. I made chipboard cards covered
with scrapbook paper, then distressed them, and wrapped them
with the trims and used some of the vintage or vintage look pins
I have found or been given to inhance the look. To me it is worth
the work, to have the eye-candy to look at everyday!

These are all vintage pieces, accept one, which is stamped
cotton and bought on Etsy. The large pin is from Karla

Those are darling, honey!!! I think I should try something like that also. Now, what exactly is chipboard and would just poster board work just as well. I think it might. I have a plethora of poster board so I think I'll cut some out. I need to find a box or storage thing to put it in though. Wonderful idea!

Hi Michele,
These are so wonderful! I love this idea, it beats my "system" by a mile. My treasures are sadly mistreated, stuffed, tangled, and often misplaced.

Okay, this is inspirational and gorgeous! what a combination! I recently purchased a whack load of laces and they all came in four plastic bags...all tangled up and messy...so my daughter and I spent the afternoon rolling all the laces onto cardboard and now I have baskets full of gorgeousness!

It really is creative fuel, a delight to our senses...it spurs us on to the business of art making!

well done...thanks for sharing!

Oh, these look amazing! I have some of those drawers, too -- I would love to do this! I think I may copy you! Thank you for visiting my blog lately -- I love to see you there! I'm just getting caught up on my blog reading after a really busy summer of activity and travel. I wish I could participate in your swap BUT I'm doing six swaps for Silver Bella! Most of which are creative! Meaning, I have to make stuff -- so I'm sort of swamped on swaps probably until after the holidays! But, in a good way...

These are really pretty! I don't blame you for fixing up a way to wrap them and show them off. Chipboard with scrapbook paper works well! I'm off to check out your swap post and see if I can't sign up! : )

I love this beautiful idea! My lace is in one big, actually 2, big snarls at the moment. I have the sewing boxes, just got 2 more this weekend, and the scraping paper (I like to buy supplies more than I like to scrap!), and you've given me the inspiration. Now if I can just get someone to kick my butt into gear.....
